Expert staff runs for South Tangerang mayor

Ayi Ruhiyat, an expert staff for economic affairs at the South Tangerang municipality, declared his readiness to run for the South Tangerang mayor in the upcoming mayoral election later this year.

Ruhiyat declared his intention in front of 700 supporters at the Open University in Pamulang on Monday.

Ruhiyat claimed that a number of organizations such as the Froum Betawi Rempug and the South Tangerang Communication Forum (FK Kotas) supported his candidacy. He has even established the Ayi Ruhiyat Youth Support Group (Gempur) to support his candidacy.

He said that his candidacy should be seen as an effort to improve local democracy.

“We have to be aware of our political rights to decide the directions of this city,” he said.
