More rainy days ahead for Jakarta

Wet weather that has hit the capital over the past few days will continue in the capital city for at least the next three days, the state weather agency forecasts.

Low pressure areas in the Indian Ocean southwest of Sumatra Island will boost the formation of rain clouds, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported Friday.

The agency said the clouds would bring moderate to heavy rains to Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi at least until Monday, warning also of possibilities of lightning and strong winds.

Heavy rains are also expected in areas across the archipelago, including Sumatra; East and South Kalimantan; Central, South and Southeast Sulawesi; Central Maluku; northern West Nusa Tenggara and western and southern parts of Papua.
