Moderate quake hit North Sulawesi

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Melonguane in North Sulawesi early Wednesday morning, a state agency reported. There were no reports of casualties or damage.The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said the quake struck 59 kilometers southeast of Melonguane, the capital of the Talaud Islands off the northeast of Sulawesi Island, and was 20 kilometers beneath the surface.Earlier this year, two earthquakes hit the northern area of Sulawesi Island around Gorontalo.
