RI President sends condolences to Poland

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has sent his condolences to the government and people of Poland for the loss of their President, Lech Kaczynski, and First Lady Maria Kaczynski in a plane crash.

"On behalf of the government and people of Indonesia, President [Yudhoyono] delivers his deepest symphaty and condolences to the government and people of Poland and the bereaved family," Presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said as quoted by kompas.com.

Yudhoyono viewed that Kaczynski's death was a great loss not only for Polish people but also for the world.

Kaczynski was one of the most admirable, respectable, and inspiring figures for Polish people, Yudhoyono said.

Kaczynski and his wife, along with top politicians and military officers, were killed in a plane crash near the airport of Smolensk, western Russia on Saturday.
