Bored lawmakers take music, joke break

House of Representatives legislators were apparently so bored waiting for their leaders to finish their lobbying session on the Bank Century case final decision Wednesday that some of them turned on music and threw jokes among them.

Everybody in the plenary room could hear the music, which ranged from Islamic chants to a song by R&B artist Akon, as the legislators deliberately put their music players close to the microphone system.

Some lawmakers also cracked jokes, including one who used the microphone to order a special delivery of coffee. Several others were seen flirting with each other.

The lobbying session was originally scheduled to end at 3 p.m., but as of now, there has been no indication when it will finish.
