Antasari verdict to be guarded by 600 police officers

With a local court due to hand down its verdict on a high-profile murder case involving former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Antasari Azhar on Thursday, 600 police officers will be deployed to secure the hearing.

“Tomorrow, at 9 a.m., all defendants awaiting the verdict will be present at the court, while judges will be there one hour beforehand," Kamari, the security coordinator for the trial, said as quoted by kompas.com.

The court is also due to issue verdicts for former South Jakarta Police chief Wiliardi Wizar, businessman Sigid Haryo Wibisono and Jerry Lo, in the same case.

They are accused of plotting a murder against Nasrudin Zulkarnaen, the former director of state-owned pharmaceutical company PT Putra Rajawali Banjaran.
