KPK detains Anggodo

After naming businessman Anggodo Widjojo suspect, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained him on Thursday evening, in connection with his alleged attempt to bribe KPK leaders and obstruct investigations into a graft case involving the Forestry Ministry.

Anggodo was taken to Cipinang Penitentiary in East Jakarta, kompas.com reported.

Anggodo had been at the KPK offices for around five hours attending a questioning session. He said briefly to journalists he could not accept this fact.

Anggodo’s lawyer, Bonaran Situmeang, said he was disappointed with the KPK decision, because his client had been cooperative in attending its questioning sessions. (ewd)
