Boediono Pays Last Respects to Marwoto

Vice President Boediono paid his last respects to House Deputy Speaker Marwoto Mitrohardjono at the home of the deceased at the Gudang Peluru complex in Tebet, South Jakarta, on Sunday night.
The vice president wearing a dark brown safari arrived at the home of mourning at 8.47 p.m local time, and left 10 minutes later.

A number of cabinet ministers also paid their last respects to the deceased, including State Minister for State Enterprises Mustafa Abubakar and Minister of Legal and Human Rights Affairs Patrialis Akbar. The House members who also paid their last respects included Priyo Budi Santoso and Pramono Anung (both House deputy speakers), Maruarar Sirait (of PDI-P), and Saleh Husin (Hanura Party).

Patrialis Akbar said at the house of mourning that the deceased was a senior figure of the National Mandate Party (PAN). "He was very loyal to PAN and his thoughts and ideas had been very useful and constructive," he said.

House deputy speaker for the 2009-2014 term Marwoto Mitrohardjono passed away on Sunday afternoon at the Metropolitan Medical Center (MMC) because of illness. He was born in Klaten, Central Java, on June 23, 1944, and was survived by a wife, Nurul Leily Marwoto, and four children. Before he became House deputy speaker, he was member of the House finance and banking commission for the 2004-2009 term.
